Pennsylvania professor follows BIM research, looking for, for Masonry workflow

Building Information Modeling for Masonry Initiative (BIM-M) members has invited an expert for the work of brick and block construction. She is Dr. Franca Trubiano of University of Pennsylvania. She'll concentrate on Huntsman Hall -- signature stonework in her school's Philadelphia campus.

She will be doing this with other expert in Georgia Institute of Technology, hold a separate agreement as a part of the BIM-M Benchmark and requirement.

It is an initiative under which National Concrete Masonry Association and allied group sponsorship will unite with BIM software with every aspect -- owner, architect, engineer, manufacturer, mason, contractor, construction manager, and maintenance professionals.

BIM – M work spans (March 2013 -- June 17)

  1. Planning
  2. Development with Benchmark unit and Wall Model Definition, in addition to Contractor Input
  3. Specification, Structural Engineering and Construction Workflow sections; and,
  4. Execution with specification, Design for Construction, Architectural Design and Contractor Training sections.

The enthusiast can join NCA in Charles Pankow Foundation; this is a Masonry Contractors Association of America, International Masonry Institute, International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft workers.
